Checking on my 2016 Resolution, I felt quite regret for a year past and didn’t complete much.

• Work / Product / Life Balance – I did pretty well for Work Life balance, I work lesser during weekend nowadays and spends time with my family. But nothing has been done on the product side.
• Stay Healthy – Have enough sleep, cut down 3-in-1 coffee a lot and went for GYM some time, but weight still the main issue.
• Build Habits – I think this last for four months and I totally lost track.
• Build Something – I thought building product is easy but I totally failure last year, I did a few concept little thing and left it.
• Convert from freelance to product owner – Nope, long way to go.

I still using Trello to track my resolutions and relevant monthly events and it works well, but I don’t have much patient to build up habits.

So these are the memorable things for 2016.

• Family trip to Perth during May, my son first oversea trip.
• Family trip to HK during Oct.
• Kuantan Biz Trip during June, my first local biz trip.
• Melaka Trip during July.
• Staycation on Jan and Oct.
• Bought a new car because our COE is ending soon.
• My son starts going to play group.
• My son first performance on stage.
• Back to World Of Warcraft for three months.
• A new Family Member confirmed.
• Meetup with a bunch of primary school friends.
• A Family Member passes away.
• Kickstart an e-commerce store.

Checking on my resolutions 2015, for sure I m doing better than 2014, but I believe I can do a lot better.

• Write more – I blogged around 40% more than 2014 but didn’t hit the one post per week target.
• Exercise – I been going  Gym since July, before the year end short break, I been doing twice Gym per week.
• Reading – I completed six books.
• Learning – Learning tons of Laravel tricks.
• Build – none.

One of the biggest regret this year is didn’t build anything. By converting my yearly goal into habits seem to like working better too. Lots of smaller steps are easier than One Big Step.

So these are the ten memorable things for 2015.

• After so many years, finally, we bought our own HDB.
• The Melbourne Trip during March is fantastic, bring back lots of good memory when I study in Melbourne.
• Tracking my life Goal through Trello.
• Using Rescue Time to track my time spending in front of my Mac, it reminds me when I have spent too much time on entertainment than work.
• Hopefully, I can maintain the short holidays from Xmas to New Year annually.
• Finally, I start to visit GYM twice a week.
• I enjoy the twice staycation this year.
• I bought Apple watch and wore it every day. The activity ring to remind me to move more.
• I been helping a friend and visited her mother at Batu Pahat once every two months, it’s one of the meaningful things I did this year.
• The kid bring us lots of happiness moment.

Checking on my 2014 resolutions , seem like I have missed all the goal , there are a short period I moving toward certain goal but it go missing in action half way. It seem like doing a routine smaller goal check monthly should be better to keep track.

Other then can’t keep up the goal myself, the other important reason is the new arrival of my  little one,, even now I m still learn to adapt of my new role as a father, the experience is kind of mixed and it does make me treasure my parent more. Looking at my little one and I start to understand how my parent feel sometime.

So these are the 10 memorable things for 2014.

• Welcome my little one.
• The first 6 month I just busy with my little one and rewrite a project for free and I did worry for the income in that first 6 month, first time since I start working freelance.
• Everything turn good in the last 6 month.
• It’s not easy to take care of the kids and work from home.
• Getting some good help from friends to push forward my biz.
• Meet matt for the first time after using WordPress for so many year.
• First in my life hit by credit card fraud.
• My first time to HK
• Never try to work while travel, it really suck.
• Take a 2 week break for the first time in year end. I been busy working during end of the year for the past few year.

checking on my 2013 resolutions , it seem I don’t really doing well for last year.

• Weight Control – I guess I better change this to doing regular exercise and eat healthy better, seem like a missing goal for the past few year.
• Build Open Source & Personal Project – I don’t really launch any personal project, but at least during my short self-improvement project i work out  a hipchat for wordpress plugin and Wardobe on Daux Theme.
• Create multiple source income other than freelancing – In the end most of my biz still coming from freelancing and the more I doing freelancing, the more I feel the need to tap into other source of income.
• Expanding business – Didn’t expand in a big way , at least I start to partner with other to take down bigger project, manage to hit sales target.

These are  the 10 memorable things for 2013.

• Travel Bangkok with family.
• Travel Taiwan with my wife.
• Me and my brother both having little one incoming.
• Going to co-working place and enjoy it.
• Meet some new friend and click really well and it actually help to open more business opportunity.
• Trying some self-improvement plan but break by overload freelancing job, it is a good start.
• Buying lots of e-book and physical book but can’t finish it.
• Lost some of the valuable things during a break in.
• Thanks for a friend for giving out an old iMac , after re-polish , now is my main machine.
• Saving hit a new high since I start freelancing.

Looking at last year resolution , I only manage to hit one main goal (related to my business) which are not listed.

• Build up exercise habit. – Fail , I think I only went to gym for a few time, really busy with lots of project.
• Create more personal project. – 50% , no personal project has been done, but I have quite a few unique freelance project.
• Generate multiple source of income. – Fail, but I manage to hit sales target for my business.
• Hack more things. 50% , the few unique freelance project did improve my skill.
• More self-control , anger management and be positive. 50% , could be better.

These are  the 10 memorable things for 2012.

1. Getting Married.
2. I don’t handle stress well.
3. Pass the Titanium exam and become certified Developer.
4. Enjoying my  honeymoon at Seoul.
5. Doing not bad for my freelance career.
6. I went to Facebook Mobile Hack & Evernote event.
7. Getting some new Gadget include new iPhone , iPad mini and finally own a 27 inch Monitor.
8. Taking small step trying to expand business but doesn’t really work well.
9. Become habit to drop some note on what happen on my daily life on Day One.
10. I blog lesser than I thought but still able to fetch some Adsense income.

Lots of thing happen and I m glad that finally everything is over. I m saying goodbye to 2012 and looking forward to 2013.

The most upset part is I have miss the weight control goal again and I really need to work hard to come out with my own products.

Here are the 10 memorable things for 2011.

1. Quit my job and start my own company.
2. Relocated and moving back to JB.
3. Due to using FuelCMS heavily on my 2 project, I have contribute some patch to this open source CMS.
4. Build an mobile web version of a flash web site for iPhone  & iPad.
5. Subscribe to one of the expensive developer license but didn’t produce anything until recently.
6. I bought a Macbook Air.
7. Meet up with lots of ex-colleague , some of them even offer some work to me.
8. Thanks for an ex colleague intro a designer to me, she has been giving me lots of project to do.
9. I register as a iOS developer on the day Steve Job pass away. He inspired me.
10. Travel around Malaysia with my wife to attend a few friend wedding, this is my first time go to other state like iPoh & Alor Setar etc.

This conclude what happen to me on 2011 , it really kind of mix , there are combination sad and happiness.

Example I m glad to relocated back but at the same time I m kind of regret because of certain things, but I guess this just how life work, you won’t be know until you choose a path, once you make your decision, you can only live with it and try to make it better.

On myself.

• The weight is out of control again, checking on my 2009 review seem like nearly 8 KG different , the good thing is I have start the engine and go to exercise again recently.
• Arrange a whole family trip on March , glad that my parent enjoy the trip.
• One of the goal this year is settle down and getting my house which seem like difficult to meet, lots of unexpected thing happen and the property price are continue hiking.
• My brother finally settle down , ROM few month ago and getting married next year.
• Start to attend some geek event, this year I went to WordCamp KL , Barcampjb and google devfest, sad that miss the Geekcamp.

On gadget

• Getting both iDevice , iPhone + iPad to become iComplete this year.
• Feel like getting the new iMac and Macbook Air, but I can’t.
• My wife getting her new iMac , so I get to use her Macbook soon.

On Web Development & Hosting

• I have switch to Linode for a year and like it , at least I have learned some of the system admin tips.
• I got a few referrers for Linode, thanks for those joining Linode after visit my blog, it save me a few month fee.
• No new project for public this year, although bought a few domain for it but failure to launch.
• I have used Code Igniter to build an application for internal use.
• Join the Woo Theme club and bought a few premium theme, perhaps 2011 is WordPress year ?
• I have just paid a yearly subscription for Tutplus, so that I can learn more from it.

These are what I have in my mind, it really seem like nothing much done on 2010, guess I m taking a break, will be a busy year next year.

25 random things about me on 2009

1. I m still on weight control , still setting my target on 80 KG , current weight is 86.5KG.
2. I bought the air ticket and going to have family trip on march 2010.
3. I’m glad that going through recession without losing job.
4. I have did some project that i m proud of on my job ( restructure one of the project into MVC mode and bringing social element to another project)
5. I setup a Facebook page for propose to my love one on the day we go steady 9 years ago and she agree.
6. I have ROM with my love on september, I’m a legally married man now.
7. I’m still  trying to get use to it for this upgrade, from boyfriend 1.0 to husband 2.0
8. I have hit my next saving target amount.
9. I bought a few insurances this year.
10. I’m start feeling financial pressure .
11. I quit WOW for sometime but recently join back as casual due to my wife is playing too.
12. I playing quite a lot of Facebook game with my colleagues.
13. I have plan to build a Facebook game but didn’t kick start so far.
14. I receive  1 Google cheque only this year.
15. My blog traffic is falling to bottom due to some mistake during revamp ( i have fixed it and now slowly climb back )
16. I been reading a lot of Code Igniter tutorials but never kick start any project.
17. I have build my first WordPress theme base on hybrid theme framework.
18. I did try to build a twitter applications site but lost interest soon after it launch.
19. For the first time , i didn’t getting any gadget this year.
20. My netbook MSI Wind still under utilize and Ipod Touch continue to be my favourite Gadget.
21. I’m struggle between iPhone and Android Phone.
22. I seldom use my mobile phone now day , just tweet/msn/Facebook me might be the easier way to reach me.
23. I didn’t switch hosting for the past 1 year.
24. I switch over to Chrome but I still love Firefox for web development purpose.
25. I’m in love with Mac  and slightly addicted on both Twitter and Facebook.

I think i have more then 25 things to mentions for 2009 but this list should include the most important 25 things , the only regret for 2009 is the webwork section, It’s been continious 2 years i didn’t get a satisfy result on the webwork section, I hope that will be something great happen on 2010.

Yes , i own all these now, sold my macbook pro this year and change it to iMac , getting a refurbished ipod touch as birthday present and bought a netbook recently, for 2009 the only thing i would like to change will be my mobile phone. G1 ? or iPhone ? or maybe the rumor iPhone nano ?

For web application/web service 2008, these are my favourite 12 service

1. Gmail – being my main mail client, i like all the label, filtering and IMAP feature.
2. Coogle Calendar – my major calendar servie, that let me plan my schedule, sync with my ical.
3. Google Analytics – using it to keep track my blog stat.
   
4. Google Reader – my favourite rss feed reader , now it sync with my ipod touch through byline for my daily morning travel.
5. Del.icio.us – still my favourite bookmark manager, can’t find any replacement.
6. Facebook – my favourite social network service 2008, help me in sync with my friend and know what happen to them.
7. Twitter – i post most of my thinking on plurk, twitter more like for me to see what other is talking.
8. Plurk – micro blogging , if facebook is for me to in sync with my real life friend, the Plurk is more like for me to in sync with my virtual friend.
9. Netvibes – it’s my start page for some time already, allow me to keep track a lots of thing inlcude my email, my blog comments and some tech news.
10. Buxfer – i blog about this recently , it keep track my income and expenses.
11. Remember The Milk – my GTD tools , todo list that remind me what i need to do
12. Evernote – my notes apps, currently fill with a lots of notes that i need read

It’s not really that happening on this blog for the past 1 year, i did twice major theme changes , which is the V8 and V9 , i try different combination of layout and because of v9 using some theme framework , i have migrate my ads to plugin control , in stead of need to hard coded everytime i changing theme.

Other thent this i have migrate my site from ahknight.net to imknight.net, which cause my page rank drop, currently on Page Rank 2, i don’t really have a proper keep track of my blog stat on 2007 , that’s why there are no stat to compare with, but i know the visit and page view is dropping like hell ( Yes i going to do something on it to save it!). Hosting wise , this blog has swap 3 host this year, knownhost, webfaction and now on media temple, the previous 2 host both are great host ,i moved it because of some other reason.I also launch my development blog not long ago which still need a lot of pump up.

Just check on my archives, i been blogging for 5 year and i really hope there are another 5 year for this blog.
