In term of site analytic, this blog gain some visit and some page view drop compare to last year, closing on 64k visit and 81k page views. I have host this blog on linode VPS and it seem pretty stable.

In term of site income , my Google Adsense income is about $30 dollar more then 2009. Beside Google Adsense, I have put up some ebook ads on the sidebar, but it seem like only get me lesser then $10 for 2010. Another income will be the Linode referral on my site, I getting at least 3 user referral which save me more then $60 on hosting.

2011 should be more challenging for this blog, I would like to double the traffic and income by end  of 2011, let’s hope what I planning to do in 2011 will help.

On myself.

• The weight is out of control again, checking on my 2009 review seem like nearly 8 KG different , the good thing is I have start the engine and go to exercise again recently.
• Arrange a whole family trip on March , glad that my parent enjoy the trip.
• One of the goal this year is settle down and getting my house which seem like difficult to meet, lots of unexpected thing happen and the property price are continue hiking.
• My brother finally settle down , ROM few month ago and getting married next year.
• Start to attend some geek event, this year I went to WordCamp KL , Barcampjb and google devfest, sad that miss the Geekcamp.

On gadget

• Getting both iDevice , iPhone + iPad to become iComplete this year.
• Feel like getting the new iMac and Macbook Air, but I can’t.
• My wife getting her new iMac , so I get to use her Macbook soon.

On Web Development & Hosting

• I have switch to Linode for a year and like it , at least I have learned some of the system admin tips.
• I got a few referrers for Linode, thanks for those joining Linode after visit my blog, it save me a few month fee.
• No new project for public this year, although bought a few domain for it but failure to launch.
• I have used Code Igniter to build an application for internal use.
• Join the Woo Theme club and bought a few premium theme, perhaps 2011 is WordPress year ?
• I have just paid a yearly subscription for Tutplus, so that I can learn more from it.

These are what I have in my mind, it really seem like nothing much done on 2010, guess I m taking a break, will be a busy year next year.

Since I have both iDevices , I bought quite a few apps from the itunes, nope I didn’t jail break it to use some of the paid apps for free, as a developer I believe we need to appreciate other developer’s work, a great read on hen studio’s post on some of the apps is not cheaper then a bowl of noodles , yet some one try to get it for free.

For 2010, I have spend around USD$50++ on Apps , $27.88 for games and $25.91 for utility, this include a few game that I bought for my wife to play. I m thinking to mention about some of the apps for today post.

1. Reeder – one of the best feed reader apps that I bought for my iPad , I think i got it for $4.99  without any promo, but it bring the new experience of reading feed to me and now their desktop app give me the same feeling too.

2. Angry Bird – the most expensive game that I bought, because I bought the iPad version, I haven’t complete it after stuck on some level.

3. iMockup – the most expensive app that I bought , it cost me $9.99, this application allow me to do create mockup on the go. This application is a bit under utilize, but it help when I have some ideas on the train, I will start to draft a layout on it.

4.  Trainyard – One of the most creative game that I bought, you need to plan the each track , consider the train color , doing lots of mixing and splitting to pass stage, I haven’t complete this game. You can get the lite edition to try out this game first, base on my understand the lite version have completely different set of puzzle.

5. Game Dev Story – The only game I completed so far. I bought this after i saw some good review on it and loving it after I play the lite version , you don’t see a strategy game like this often, but I don’t see the replay value, complete it and that’s it. This is a game that you play as a boss of a game studio , you need to recruit different talent to help your company building new game, the re are different genre for you to choose. Once you build some great games, you will start to earn money and might even getting some award, the whole game is about how far you can go in 20 years time.

6. EpicWin – I bought it to show some support to the developer, since this is quite a creative idea, a RPG style todo list , but it just not my type of todo apps.

This is what I wish to get next
Awesome note – a wonderful notes apps with great theme, sync with google doc/evernote , the to do list part is a bit weak, that’s why I still consider.

I guess for 2011 I will be getting less game but more utility, but I really glad that there are so many wonderful apps in the appstore , just like what Apple trademark , “There’s an app for that“.

1. Gmail – I start using Gmail when it launch during 2004 , stop using other email service around 2005 and just focus using Gmail only, I even blog about 8 different way to use Gmail before. I even setup Google Apps to use Gmail for custom domain on 2010.

2. Google Calendar – same like Gmail , I been using Google Calendar when it first launch. Now day I have sync my todo list due date, Facebook friends Birthday and reminder for myself on it, this allow me keep track lots of time critical event.

3. Netvibes – Another product which I have used for a few year, during the old day we call it start page, now day we call it dashboard. Netvibes is one of the first website I visit daily, the first page will have overview mashup from my Gmail, Google Calendar , todo , Facebook events etc, there are some other pages for some of the tech feed which I need to check daily.

4. Remember The Milk – todo list web application., the premium account is required if you want to sync with your mobile. I didn’t use it a lot , but it does serve as a good to do list and weekly task reminder.

5. Feedly – I use Google Reader to subscribe rss feed and Feedly display all these feeds in magazine style, in stead of boring email way to read the feeds, I prefer to read the feeds in some magazine style.

6. Dropbox – Cloud based file sync service , I have keep some of my important files and ebook on it , it allow me to accessing on these files everywhere. It allow sharing do it easily too , I can just share one of the folder with my friend and doing real time file exchange, this is even faster then IM file exchange.

7. Evernote – Cloud based notes service ,  other then the great Mac desktop client, I can just use the bookmarklet to capture any web pages and sync to my account.

8. Instapaper –  A simple tools for read it later, with a bookmarklet , it will save the web page content and strip out the ads and keep a copy in your account, great for mobile reading later.

9. Pinboard – An antisocial bookmark service , I pay for small amount ( few dollar ) for a life time account,which is a great buy. The layout is clean and straight forward, since is a paid service, you won’t see lots of spam bookmark, recently the rumor about delicious going to close down , has bring in lots of traffic for it.

10. Buxfer – I m no plan to put this in , but it does serve me well for 2010. I use buxfer to keep track of all my expense for this 2 year, but the server is getting slow now day and seem like the both founder have joined Facebook and no longer having any update. I going to migrate over to a desktop client starting of next year.

1. Google Chrome for Mac – this has become my main browser once it release the mac edition, although I still having problem for some of the website , but it has been my default browser.

2. Xmind – The cross-platform mind map tools, combine with Dropbox , I can get access to all my mind map in different platform.

3. Textmate – One of the best code editor , although everyone seem like waiting for Textmate 2. This is the main text editor I use for all my coding, some time I will combine with Espresso file upload feature to do some fast code editing.

4. Sparrow – A rather new Gmail client for Mac , I using it to manage my Gmail account, the first launch was disappointed, but now day is getting better , is like Tweetie for email.

5. Skitch – I use Skitch to snap screenshot most of the time, Skitch allow you to capture and annotate the screen shot easily, most of the images I use on this blog are snap by Skitch, recently they just release Skitch pro which offer some enhance feature.

6. Evernote – A cross-platform notes services, It allow you to sync your notes across different platform. I access the services through the Evernote Mac Desktop version to keep track of my notes, ideas and blog post. Recently Evernote just upgrade the upload limit for both free and paid user.

7. Reeder – I bought the iPad version first and like the apps concept very much , Once I try the desktop beta version I become addicted on it , this is one of the best RSS Reader client that sync with Google Reader.

8. MAMP – OSX is come with Apache and PHP by default, but there is some configuration need is required before using it, MAMP is one of the recommend tools for web developer to set up a web development environment, it simplify the setup process and just one button click your web server is ready to use.

9. Alfred – A replacement tools for Quick Silver on my mac, I didn’t spend much time research on the power pack , but it is an easy to use launcher.

10. 1Password – You can find 1Password quite often on some of the mac apps bundle, but it doesn’t mean it is a cheap application, in fact it is a very useful application that allow you to safe keep most of your password, license key etc.

Since last year I have change the way to plan my resolutions, I just give myself some general goals without much detail , which seem like a better way for me to achieve these goals.

• Doing more webwork for boost up my development skill, include 2 special apps for my work
• Settle down with my own place, a must for this year.
• Be more healthy , include the weight issue and easy getting tired.

That’s all for my goals this year, nothing tough but need to be strict to myself in order to get these 3 goals done. Since this is a special year for me , I hope it will be a good year for me.
