• Gmail – using to manage all my email , even my own domain, I will be just use the Google Apps to host my own emails, I been using iPhone Mail and Sparrow to check my Gmails.
• Google Calendar – using to manage all my appointment, it sync with my iPhone ical my iMac ical.
• Dropxbox – One of the best Cloud Storage services and it help me a lot for my freelance work.
• Evernote – One of the best notes that live in the Cloud, you can access it through multi platform and multi device is one of the selling point.
• Remember The Milk – My todo list services for the past few year,the iPhone version is good and the iPad version is better and don’t forget most of premium to do list is charging for the sync, why not just get a services instead of an application.
• Pinboard – I believe this is one of the web services that I can only access it through web browser, it still serve me well for me to bookmark resources.

As you can see most of the choice remain the same like last year, I belive I have moving from Goole era which using everything through the Browser  to access all kind of web application in the cloud – to the Apple era , where using all the device  with apps to access the Cloud.

This might be the reason other than web development , I would like to give iOS development a try.

So what this lab does is testing new feature with the users that optin, which mean the new feature won’t be affect the normal usage while gather some of the google fans feedback, until the product is popular enough , then it will become part of official product. so this is the answer from Google, Task !

after playing this task feature for a while , these are some of my opinion.

• swap betweet task list is difficult , it should be more user friendly
• create task limited by task list that you are currently in, you can’t view the task list A but create a task for task list B at the same time
• the indent/unindent feature seem like a bit buggy, some time it doesn’t respond at all
• no matter how many task list you have, all tie to 1 task calendar
• date field is not text base, i prefer something like remember the milk where i can just input “next week” and it auto translate into proper date

So how to enable multile google calendar sync ? just swtich to the manage calendar page and select offline, you will see all the calendar in the listing, just check which calendar you want it to be offline sync.

after done the setting, just click on sync to make it sync again and all your selected calendar will be show in offline mode.

So what does offline sync means ? it actually sync with your desktop/notebook and allow you to access it without connection and what ever you done on the offline mode will be sync with the service when you connect back online, sounds like a great service right  ? but after i test it and find out the limitation is , Google calendar offline sync only allow you to sync ONE CALENDAR!

I think this happen also when they release the calendar sync with outlook, erm do you guys who using google calendar only use ONE CALENDAD ? for myself i have 6 calendar, each serve different purpose, with different color labeling, i feel in this way is more organize. Am i the only one using more then ONE CALENDAD? how many calendar you guys have on google calendar ?

P/S Just find out that i m wrong, Google calendar actually allow multiple calendar sync, is just that you need to setup.

Why i like web service is because basically as long as you have connection you can access your service but for sure there are some time you can’t find any connection, or you only able to get connection for a while , thats why sync/synchronization is very important.

The Holy Grail of Synchroinization this post give me lots of idea, too bad i can’t really get Schedule World working and putting all the egg in one basket seem danger. I visual my whole syncing with Gliffy

so what i have ?

Calendar

• Work Calendar ( outlook ) – this will be my main calendar which include all my work related appointment
• Other Calendar (outlook) – this will be multiple calendar on my google calendar, example like my web project calendar, my personal calendar which i don’t like to mix all in one

Bottleneck

• Outlook XP on my working notebook – lots of plugin/software doesn’t work with this version and i can’t avoid since is pre-set by company
• Multiple calendar seem like not support on both windows mobile and palm

Device

• My notebook – running on Windows XP
• My PC – running on Windows XP
• My Phone – Treo 750v running on Windows Mobile
• My PDA – Palm TX running on palm

These are the new features which you can find on their website , what i like is the Message Tagging, which allow you to tag your email, which is the same like labeling your email in Gmail. The rest are pretty standard improvement, it seem to me the spam fighting , Phishing Protection all these feature are still continue improve.

Oh not forget it support adding Gmail account in very easy step, you can just add the gmail account without knowing all the pop, smtp information but i will think this feature should be extend to most of email service out there ?

I have my attention on it because just before this official release, i saw a blog post that describe how to sync thunderbird2.0 RC1 with Gcal ( Google Calendar ) , with Lightning and Provider this 2 addon, you can sync your Gcal 2way ! Sigh when i trying hard to find some plugin which allow me to sync outlook with Gcal (avoid the paid version and looking for free or open source) , Thunderbird has did it easily with just 2 extension!

On top of it you can sync Thunderbird with Pocket PC (Windows Mobile) with paid option by using BirdieSync or FOC option by using FinchSync , too bad there are no solution for syncing with Palm, i think Thunderbird Dev team should put sync as one of the important feature for future roadmap, this might attract more potential users.

Let say for myself, i got no choice to use outlook because it can sync my phone ( pocket pc ) and my pda ( palm ) without adding any additional cost.

p/s before i forget one of the issue for syncing the Gcal with thunderbird, you must always stay online, it is not working in the way you did it offline first then sync later, one of the suggestion is using GCalDaemon in between Thunderbird and Gcal until provider plugin is fixing this issue.

if you already using these service, thats will be good since you can use it with your gcal, if you haven’t try this 2 service before , i will recommend you to give it a try, both are good GTD service.

this will be how it looks after integrated, what can i do after integrated my todo list with my gcal ? its a bit simple for Toodledo which allow you add new task and see the task that due on the particular date ( which mean you can’t see those without due day task )

for Remember The Milk shows more complete feature, which include map feature and of course task that without due date is showing.

sound interesting ? you might think that this might be difficult to integrate, Nope this is very simple, all done in one click

1. assume that you already have google calendar account
2. register an Airset account and create a new group
3. one group for one calendar ( in google calendar we can have multiple calendar )
4. select the new created group , choose Calendar -> Subscribe to a Calendar, enter your ical address of your google calendar, starting from now it will fetch the changes that you add through google calendar
5. Download the Airset Desktop Syn and follow the instruction to syn Airset calendar to desktop palm application
6. repeat the same thing for other calendar, now your palm will have all the appointment that you mark on google calendar
