So I thought this should be an easy task and started my plugin searching journey, after spending few hour to search, download and testing , most of the plugin cannot make it.

These are some of the reasons :

1. Plugins which is  part of big site like Addthis / Shareaholic require you to register an account first before you can use the plugin
2. Plugins which is very complex to use.
3. Plugins which is not working.
4. Plugins without Tumblr sharing.
5. Plugins with ugly icons.
6. Plugins with poor setting page.

lucky after few hours trial and error, I found this plugin call Simple Share Buttons Adder , some of the features are

• easy to set up and use
• the default icons are good and you are allowed to replace with your own set of icons.
• there are other setting for you to tweak for example shall it display the share count,the size of the button etc.
• it support Tumblr
• quite lightweight

these are all the social media site that support and it support email and print too.

Highly recommend if you looking for a simple and easy solution to make your site easier for sharing among social media, I have replace my old plugin on this site too.

Don’t panic, your gallery is still there, is just that it doesn’t show in the drop down menu, What you need to do for fixing this issue ? Visit your Gallery admin page -> Manage Gallery , edit all the gallery, you should see that the Title field is empty, just update the Title field with the proper name will fixed this issue.

• Initial scan will advice certain step to secure your wordpress, example hide your wordpress version, alert you to get current version of wordpress,don’t use the defaul wp as database prefix and don’t use admin as default username. All these default setting can cause your wordpress higher risk.
• File permission scanner also, which will compare your current file permission with proper permission required for that directory,if there are some alert, you need to chmod your directory with proper permission.
• Password Tools, which another additional feature  that provide password strength checker,it allow you to check how secure the password you using.
• Database , this is the build in feature which will change your wordpress table prefix, please backup before using it.

this is not plugin that after you install, your wordpress will be secure, it is more like a scanner which tell you what other thing you can do to secure your wordpress blog.

If you blog content not a lot/complex, this few plugin might be meaningless for you, if you have 20+ category, 30+ page and 40+ links , these 3 plugins is your savior. This 3 plugin allow you reorder your category/links/pages in a easy way, drag and drop.

That’s why this 3 plugin can call it once off plugin, you use it once in a while, but it really help you to cut down a lot of time, i wish this can be integrate into next release of wordpress.

• Is it “wrong” to have a link back to the author? It asks for nothing and costs nothing – It is nothing wrong to link back to author, but provided the user know about it and don’t mind to link back.
• I don;t understand the point you are trying to make – this markup can’t be affecting your site; it’s hidden – you are wrong,visibility: hidden will still affect the layout, visibility:none is the one won’t affect
• it was another plug-in that I used a while back which gave me the idea, as it did exactly the same thing – you can’t beat them , that’s why you join them ?
• You can always choose not to use the plug-in – that’s your choice – this has been answer in the forum, unless someone know how to read the code , people don’t really know what you did in these code
• after all the main issue is not putting a link back as credit, is you try to hidden it.

It is sad to see people that contribute to open source and have thinking like this, yeah yeah you have did bla bla bla and bla bla bla but this doesn’t give you the authority to do this, you might be able to do that if you are selling a commercial software i guess. During weekend , i happen to test some of the plugin in order to tweak some of the setting of my blog and i found this plugin – Last Year Widget which is perfectly meet my need, it show your archives post on previous year during the same period.

I thought that the plugin that i download from wordpress main site, shouldn’t have any problem, but when i using it on my sidebar, it seem like the display a bit funny, i thought is some CSS issue and planning to edit the code, guess what i found ?

if you are not into html/web programming/web design, what it does is putting this link on your blog when you use it, but didn’t show up, you won’t see it but you are giving him free link back.Today if someone can just hide a link like this, tomorrow maybe one of the famous plugin are the reason your blog been hack !

i advice anyone that using a lot of plugin should check your source code and checking is there any link that you don’t know but is found in your source code ? on a side note WordPress Exploit Scanner is really sux because it cannot tell this plugin got problem.

So what this plugin does, it added 2 option on your comments, which is Reply and Quote, sounds simple right ? But this actually solve one of the biggest comment issue on wordpress, when there are alot of comments on a post, it is very difficult to keep track who reply to who, or who quote from who.

if you click on reply or quote, all thes comments will appear in the wordpress admin comments page , under In Need To Reply Tab. By looking at list of comments, you can decide what to do on these comments, inline reply, ignore it or spam it ! if you got lots of comments to check, this plugin will improve your productivity on managing comments.

Even sidebar widget is ready for use, another plus point for this plugin.

the last thing i want to talk about is the option page, it allow you to customize a lot of thing related to this plugin, you change the word represent it, in stead of call it “Reply” or “Quote” , you can change it to your own term, allow the comments to be tagged and some other extra feature.

Vote2publish – too bad this plugin seem like only working on WordPress MU , i tested a few time on my single testing wordpress but  it only show me blank after i activate it.

WP Wall – i think Wall this idea is start from facebook ? it’s something like shoutbox , which allow you to leave a message on your friend’s wall ( which hang on their blog ), there are a lot of options for you to configure, example who allow to post, auto refresh the wall and even provide rss feed for wall.

WP Easy Uploader – a powerful uploader which are special cater for wordpress, it include the feature that what you going to upload will be a plugin or theme, so that it will auto upload to the correct path and unzip it , because it support a lot of zip extension (zip, tar, gz, tar.gz, tgz, tar.bz2, and tbz)

Manageble – what manageble does is allow you to mass edit your post/page with inline editing, almost most of the field can be edit and it build into the defaul manage post interface.
