Actually i m planning to reopen , i been working on some setup and slowly adding back some of the feed recently but at the same time i m consider shall i continue this project ? i seem like losing some of my passion for this project. After all i m not really chinese blogger, is hard for me to follow what happen in chinese blogpshere.

What trigger me is yesterday – ” 27 already but still no big achievement “  , i think i should really put my effort on some other thing. At the same time, some of friend that i know, already working hard for pushing the whole malaysia chinese blogsphere, i would like to wish them all the best !

Sat night i had moved most of my current customer to a new host, although closing down biz but i still need to help them get a reliable host, not that bad only 2 customer will look for their own host in stead of move to the one that i recommend to them. 1 of them found an lousy host, base on our email conversion, i know that either he is totally new or he just an reseller ..

I have too much reason to close down this biz, but most of them are due to my real life problem and i wish to spend more time to do something that i wish to do, in stead of wasting time to do something that i force to do.

Dear customer , thanks for all the support , especially – Jason , he intro quite a few customer to me,is because of him i start earning some $$ this year.Thanks for all the understand and support.

I would say moving back from drupal to wordpress is a good choice, by rewrite one of the feed aggregator engine and using simplepie , it seem like solving some of my previous issue. Make use of simplepie caching feature, so far i m quite satisfy of the performance, not only i getting latest feed faster, when forcing the update, it won’t take a lot of time.

Oh another good plugin that i would like to recommend, Latest Post from each Cateogry , it solve the problem that i need to write custom script to pull latest result from each blog …

I wish the new engine can fix up some the old issue

• moving back to wordpress
• new themes is chosen
• the rss aggregator engine would be a totally rewrite
• make use of wp-autoblog as base
• it will insert the blog title as category name
• by default close the ping feature and comment feature
• adding permanent url and author name as post meta data
• auto insert valid feed in links management

so far is about 80% complete already, the only thing i want to do now is replace the magpierss with simplepie , just that this won’t give me more headache, by using the cache feature i hope this can reduce the feed capture delay issue.

this release is fully compatible with the latest k2, lots of k2 feature can be display without problem, even the rolling navigation i have fix it to display properly

• Starting from this release, this theme will be official call k2-ing ( can’t really think of good name and recently i into ing-style name )
• K2-ing-Orig is a special release, without changing too much k2 feature/template, this version is release to be k2 compatible, which mean most of the feature that work on k2, should be work on this version, include the custom header.
• As i mention always , i m not designer nor creative enough, i just good in mixing, this themes is the result of mixing some of the good themes out there, Special Credit to K2 & 3ColumnK2 & Unsleepable
• I put all the css changing in the switch style file to avoid future upgrade issue

So why is it a sneak release ? because i don’t wish to release this at first, its build on outdated k2 themes ( k2r167 , current version is 0.9 ), when i try to port over my style sheet on the new k2 themes, geez ! lots of thing been changed, its going to be a lot of work, which i don’t think i can make it for short time, thats why i release this themes under the old k2 structure for some of the user which been keep email me for the theme.

Apologize if some of the k2 feature is not working, because i did some hack and slash on it, which might affect some of the feature, since i not using all feature , i can’t really tell what is broken.

How to use this themes ? as usual just upload to wp-content/themes , apply this theme under Presentation, go to K2options->K2 Scheme , select switch.css and apply.

i did struggle to choose a themes for Getspot , i was thinking to give it a web2.0 look, so i try to search some rounded corner/ feature rich themes , Squible is nearly my choice but i having some magierss problem with it , durable is quite good as a web2.0 blog themes too, but i dislike its colors feature, then i found Qwilm! , i even combine its v2 ajax feature to its v3 version and widget it.

Yesterday when i just about to start the upgrade, i accidently saw fUnique and the next moment i see the testrun, i have decided to use this for Getspot

so it turn from a very boring color theme

to this new fresh look

so basically what i did is using Bharath Kumar’s design of 3 Column K2 , which have extra column compare to normal k2 , i been fall in love for 3 column themes since my last upgrade, especially those with 2 column on the right hand side.

so by using this themes as base, i start to modify its style sheet file to make it simulate the same color effect , i kinda like Unsleepable which styling by Ben Gray , there are only 2 point that i don’t like about Unsleepable , one is it only have one column , the other is the button column seem like not expandable

so by trying a lot of trial and error, i m using the final product now, one of the big mistake is i put all the new style on the base style sheet file, which i should put it with the 3 column style file, other then this, another thing that i would like to fix will be the bottom column, i think i should correct this error before i release .

lastly thanks Bharath Kumar and Ben Gray , if not because of them, i can’t mix out this themes.
