I always believe I start to know more and learn more after I find out what is RSS and thanks for Google provide this wonderful services that allow me to getting all these news update easily. Just like most of the user, I don’t understand what’s the factor Google choose to close down this service, but I believe  as closing down this service, it allow the RSS/Feed market to start innovate again.

I believe we saw quite a number of alternative raise for the past few month and lots of apps has been pop up non stop , there are lots of app release update to support all the new feed service, it’s been a while we see so much happening in the RSS field.

For my self , I been tried out Feedly for a while but don’t really happy with it and currently I m testing on Feedbin, as a developer I believe some of the service you need to paid , don’t be the free user. I m waiting for the Mac and iPad version of Reeder upgrade to support Feedbin as well, thanks for release the iPhone version for free, so far I really like it.

I must say it has been long time since I love a desktop RSS reader, but Reeder bring the wonderful iPad experience to desktop with more customization, I afraid I going to leave Feedly for Reeder.

If I need to highlight one of the important feature that I like ? that will be displaying star-ed link grouping by site, this is more for personal habit, I prefer to check out my start-ed link by site. If you still looking for a perfect RSS reader on mac , give Reeder for mac a try today.

If you didn’t see the send to feature while reading your feed, you just need to configure it on Setting -> Send to , check the web2.0 services that you would like the feed send to , as you can see on the thumbnail , there are quite a lot services supported , including instapaper and posterous.

overall i think this is a good changes, at least now the users no need to install Greasemonkey script for sending the feed to their favourite web2.0 services, i wonder what will be the next social feature adding to Google Reader ?

Firstly join any website/blog that having Google Friend Connect Feature , example the php princess blog that make me discover this.

Once you join the site you can manage it on Blogger Dashboard. Which not only manage your blogspot blog , it allow you to manage the site that you join.

If you have a google reader account, you will find out this blog already appear in your google reader

I m not sure is everyone aware on this, just want to share with all the google fans out there. I wonder will google wave be the one to combine all these tiny feature in one ?

I like it in the first place, then i start playing around, uninstall-reinstall-uninstall-reinstall again and i get fedup. It will be nice if …

• Integrate with google reader is a nice feature, but if feedly won’t change my feed structure arrangement in my google reader, that will be perfect, it change all the feed under one category, which mean if i using google reader without feedly installed , i will be damn lost.
• Uninstall feature is a must , i think it started with some mess , until the uninstall feature is ready , although it did revert back my google reader setting , but it doesn’t reset the one on my feedly.
• No way to clear all the feed, even i try to uninstall and reinstall, those feed that port from my google reader is still remain there
• So because of this issue, i don’t want to import my netvibes feed, for more testing, at first i thought this might be replace my netvibes’s feed part, so that my netvibes won’t take so long to load, but think i can only give up this

This is what i have before i start the clean up

So i start clean up by go through feed by feed by tag based

• there are feed stop update, you can see this by the trends , remove it
• there are feed you not longer interest , remove it
• there are feed already change the feed address , update it

one of the main thing that i do it put the similar topic blog example for google , mac or open source on my netvibes, so that i can read when i want to , not under a pressure want to make my google reader unread list become 0, in fact i export out most of the feed to netvibes, those remain in my google reader is either personal blog or some very interesting blog.

after whole morning, i think more then 3 hours and this is the result !

if you ask me is this worth it ? spend so much time to reorganize the feed ? i think this is worth it and it’s a must, i believe this will be optimize my feed reading time, lets see how it goes after next week

So what is this trends about ? from my view is like base on your reading habit , the rss that you subscribe, google doing a summary overview for you. Through all these statistic you will understand more about the rss that you subscribe, how often are they update, how often you read their post or how often you “star” the post.

Just like what has been stated at Official Google Reader Blog – “You may discover things about your reading habits that you didn’t know”

Oh not to forget one of my favourite feature, check your inactive subscription, for you to do some house keeping.

the new Google Reader interface does look a bit similiar to bloglines, blog list on the left content on the right, but the right hand side it can be view in list mode ( something like your gmail list mode ) or expanded view . If you has been using gmail for sometime, it should be quite easy for you to master how to use Google Reader

• some user say importing of opml got problem , so far i imported 163 blog without any problem
• some user having problem for reading chinese rss feed, so far all my chinese rss feed display without any problem
• I m totally converted from bloglines to Google Reader
