Every major version release, Firefox will have some download counter/download stat kind of landing page , there are no exception this time, check it out. I wonder is it going to break record again ?

So far for myself , I used to be Firefox’s Fan until Google Chrome version 6, then I have switch over to Chrome. For now I have Firefox 4 RC installed for some time, but I will only  call out my Firefox to the rescue, when Google Chrome is having some problem with some of the site. I just check on my Google Analytics on the “Browser usage breakdown” for this blog and Firefox user just love this blog , haha.

Since there are so many Firefox user support this blog, let me clear my work this week and do some preparation, next week will be Firefox week , I will be using Firefox for one whole week without Google Chrome and blog about my return experience of Firefox 4.

What this feature does is displaying a screen shot of your inbox when you are waiting on the loading screen.The screen shot will contain of latest 10 emails , this actually help you to save your time , if you are just want to make sure receiving certain email on slow connection.

Inbox Preview seem like a wonderful feature, but i going to suggest 3 alterantives.

1. Netvibes – using this personal dashboard to update what are the latest email you recieve in your gmail account.
2. Gmail Manager – using this firefox add on to keep track your latest email.
3. Digsby – using this IM client to monitor your gmail account.

so what happen yesterday was laterloop firefox3 addon seem like stop functioning, i click on the icon at the status bar and it doesn’t bookmark the site to my account, so i decide to visit laterloop help section. Oh so it happen that they are suppport on Getstatisfaction , now day seem like a lot of web2.0 service are going on Getstatifaction this platform.

I did some search and found the person who have similar problem , although there are no solution yet but one important thing is that the user list out all the installed firefox addon, so i did some comparison with my addon and found the source of problem – seo for firefox

But Windows Live Mail unable to load on Firefox, i thought it’s almost  a standard that most of the web apps are aiming on cross browser support, how come Windows Live Mail still being so protective ? IE only ? in the end i just been redirect to some old hotmail interface which isn’t that impressive.

If you have time to send firefox dev team a cake, maybe spend more time to fix this ? some of the solution can be found in this blog post’s comments but seem like it still on and off happen.

Every time i start firefox it will just crash and prepare to send report , so i did some research and try to launch my firefox in safemode, just fire up terminal and type

/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -safe-mode

so this actually allow me to launch the firefox safe mode menu ,my first try is just continue in the safe mode and disable the plugin i just upgrade, restart my firefox, it still crash . Second time i checked the option disable all add-ons, finally my firefox launch successfully. after this i just turn on add on one by one to see which one causing problem, but this time no problem at all, firefox can be restart after each addon turn on.

Anyway this solve my crashing problem, worse come to worse i will suggest reset all user preference, if you are not on Mac, this should be help – how to start firefox safe mode on other os

Currently i m using firefox 3 RC 3 @ home ( yeah Mac version ) and firefox 3 in the office, for my personal experience , i would say this latest release is a lot better then firefox 2, especially on memory management, interface and some other new feature, maybe exclude the awesome bar ?

One of my colleague have a funny habit , she will try to minimize the firefox a few time quickly to reduce the memory usage of firefox2( avoid slow loading) , i think after firefox 3 release , i should be no chance to see her do that

please download firefox 3 after 1am tonight ( singapore time ) , auto update from browser not counted, i will download from the site to show my support, gg firefox !

so far most of the extension already release upgrade version .. these are the plugin that i give up

• del.icio.us plugin – it seem like the latest version will take over firefox bookmark feature, which will syn with and download all your del.icio.us bookmark ( your current bookmark will be overwritten )
• adblock plus – it still block google adsense and i m lazy to find out how to enable that.
