I believe I have completed my check list for this WordCamp.

I always feel like attend this type of geeks meet up , since I don’t really have much of real life friend that can talk about all these geek things, but most of the time I will just give up before the actual day. On one side I m a anti-social guy, on the other side I scare of attends meet up like this alone. I’m glad that this WordCamp turn out to a good experience, can’t wait for next geeks meet up, I heard that there might be WordCamp Asia @ Singapore , let’s hope it really happen.

Refactory is using openid for member acount login, which mean it support most of the big-name service like google,blogger,yahoo and wordpress etc. Once you have an account, there are 2 things you can do

• add a snippet yo the library
• edit other user’s snippet

example for this code snippet – PHP SEO title generator history , you can see which user did what changes with comment why they did the changes, i would say this is quite a cool idea, as a developer you might wish to tweat other user code in order to prove that you can do better optimization , as a user you might wish to see how to tweak the code as pro , this web site actually cater for both.

Refactory claimed to be developer wiki , as per the tag cloud , it seem like most of programming language/frame work are having some code snippet, give it a try if you are finding some code snippets for your own use.

i think there are many post about what is Open Social  , after i understand the basic idea of Open Social  , the first thing that pop in my mind , this sounds like Netvibes’s UWA (universal widget api ) ? We have the same problem on widgets, there are so many platform for widgets, UWA allow you to create one widget that able to run on different platform and you only need to learn one format.

Currently this is similar situation in social networking , because of facebook’s success , lots of social networking is going to release their own platform, if that really happen, developer will be damn busy. I think Google is hitting the web2.0 sweetspot again, lets see november release will give us what kind of surprise.
