I blog about Google Task and how it integrate with Google calendar, this interesting feature finally become an official product, Google just mention Tasks graduates from Gmail Labs . Although Google Task is from Gmails Labs , but i think it more like a standalone product, it allow to integrated with some other Google product which make it more interesting.

Integrate with Gmail – it will be like Google chat windows, display at the right hand corner for you to create task, if you don’t like it you can show it as pop up too.
Integrate with Mobile – tested on ipod touch and windows mobile phone, as usual it looks perfect on mac and looks sux on windows.I only hope that there are native apps appear in app store
Integrate with Calendar – This really help for Google Calendar’s user, at least we can just concentrate to manage everything on the calendar view.
Integrate with iGoogle – This widget support allow user to manage their task on iGoogle, too bad it seem like other dashboard like netvibes still don’t have any module to support this.

I might give Google Task a full try to see does it able to replace my Remember The Milk, lets see how this will work.

Complete Google Calendar with Task

If you using google calendar as your main calendar service, now you should feel more complete with the new Task feature . I believe that a lot of google calendar user wish that google calendar come with some todo service. There are quite a few of todo/GTD service that work with google calendar too , but we just want something from google.

so this is the answer from Google, Task !

after playing this task feature for a while , these are some of my opinion.

swap betweet task list is difficult , it should be more user friendly
create task limited by task list that you are currently in, you can’t view the task list A but create a task for task list B at the same time
the indent/unindent feature seem like a bit buggy, some time it doesn’t respond at all
no matter how many task list you have, all tie to 1 task calendar
date field is not text base, i prefer something like remember the milk where i can just input “next week” and it auto translate into proper date

Revisit Task Management

I been stop using these task services since one year ago, consolidate calendar, email and task on outlook (my office using outlook XP) , but outlook task management is really boring and very limited feature, other then using it because i want to syn with my phone, it doesn’t really help me that much.

Thats why i m looking for new web based task management service, these are on my list

Gubb – new comer
HiTask – new comer
Toodledo – revisit
RememberTheMilk – revisit

p/s Calendar part for sure i will go back to google calendar, 30boxes as backup, for email part heard that Thunderbird2.0 is great
