Style Edit [Day 3 - 30DSIC]

This is the continuous series for 30 day squarespace iPhone challenge.

There are 4 button on the right top once you login your squarespace account, which is Content Edit, Structure Edit, Style Edit and Preview. Preview is pretty much nothing to talk about, it simple allow you to view your site in the preview mode. Let’s talk about the Style Edit for today.

When you select style edit, the Appearance Editor will be show, you can select the switch templates to change theme, after you select theme , you can select any style that build on this theme.There are around 15 theme to let you choose , each theme is having 3~5 style.

If you think that theme & style combination is too little and this will cause a lot of squarespace site look the same, you are wrong. Once you have selected your theme and style , you can start customize your theme. There are 4 type of customization you can do

• Banner & Navigation – which allow you to customize the outlook for the theme, you change the theme between 1 column, 2 column ,3 column etc.
• Fonts, Colors & Sizes – allow you to customize every element in the theme, you change the style , color and size of each element.
• Custom CSS – for those CSS Guru , you can customize the full CSS here
  
• Advanced – define your customize elements.

after all these customize ,your theme will be totally different , it seem like this feature  not only for user who are  not so good in design and it take care of advance user too.
