As you can see the dashboard interface, you are allow to post 4 type of media , there are follow feature for social purpose and repost feature for reblogging, one of the important feature that tumblr is missing will be the comment feature. Yahoo meme weakness will be the permalink of post, currently the url strucuture is not really SEO friendly. There are no option for you to customize your meme currently, but  there are some very clean looking theme available for you to change.

I just wonder will this work ? if i compare plurk with twitter, i feel that twitter more like a service that you will use a 3rd party tools to access it , it doesn’t have some very personal feature like plurk, which you must login tthe main site to use it. The example i m talking is like those action “ask”, “say”,”share” and the time line.

this raise a question, if twitter really go commercial, will you spend $$ on it ?

Now they are back online and the first shot will be no more limitation on invitation, i believe before this , each user is having 10 invitation only. It seem like Jaiku will be back to active mode again.

I believe a lot of people might think , is it too late ? twitter is almost the mainstream , plurk is represent the new wave and there is open source version – identi.ca , it seem like Jaiku have a tough war to fight.

Currently i m using Jaiku as a lifestream service – my jaiku , too bad most of my friend is either on twitter or plurk, lets see what surprize Jaiku can show us. Do leave a comment here, if you need a Jaiku invitation.

So what it does is getting email from you and publish it as a blog post, sounds straight forward and i think major blog service do have this feature, the unique part of posterous is – it will host the file that you attach with your email.

Be it a doc, ppt , pdf , jpg/gif/png or mp3, it will upload to posterous and you can set it with a download link or not in your setting. You can try to put youtube url in the email, which posterous will auto embeded the player in your post, similar feature for mp3 file too.

The last cool thing posterous did is cross posting, a cool example is i write a short review attach with some image and post it to posterous , by activate the cross posting feature, it will post my image to my flickr account and at the same time posting it to my blog , all these done by just email.

A few thing to take note is , there are no theme feature yet, although is in their todo list, i can’t find any backup feature too, if i need to remove my account and backup my upload file ? One good thing is it allow you to use your own custom domain.

What i can see youare is tryin to combine SNS with micro blogging, that’s the reason you need to fill some extra info in order for this thing work, example fill in your location, so that you find out who else is within your same location, fill in your work or education, to find user that working at similiar work or study at same place before or even fill in your status , are you single and Interested Woman/ Man ?

Although more info require to fill in in order to make this work, but there are privacy setting available, which allow you to trigger what info can be view by public. Taking on the latest lifestream idea, one of the feature web life which allow you to import your delicious link , flickr photo and youtube video. Layout design part might be the weakest , you can only tweak a few color, which cause the design don’t really give personal feeling.

So far my testing on twitter, jaiku and tumblr working ok , all 3 services getting update immediately but tumblr display this entry twice, i wonder is it because of  tumblr v3 release causing this ? i m quite impress by some tiny thing, like after you input your username and password for other micro blogging service, it will actually verify first, when you did posting, a small animate icon will be show to inform you which service is posting now, after it complete the posting, a hyper link is show for you to access to the posted entry on the related micro blogging site.

actually i been hoping to develop a similiar idea like this, but who know someone did it already, geez you can’t just think sometime. Oh the only minus point of this site is not so english friendly ? some other language showing and mix with english , i think a clean up need to be done on this.

i think the microblogging which my friend mention is include these 2 type, you can just limit yourself to write a short blog post within 140 char in wordpress, but that lost some fun of microblogging, i will suggest using twitter’s or jaiku’s client which you can find in every platform interact with wordpress. This will allow you to have best of both world, you can have fun with microblogging feature , at the same time it will generate nicely as wordpress post. These are some of the useful plugins.

• Twitter Tools – update your twitter text to your wordpress blog
• WP-Jaiku – update your wordpress blog to jaiku

for Tumblelogging just make use of QuickPost , which is a wordpress plugin, it will create similiar interface like tumblr , which allow you to post different media post, example post/links , photo and video, you can try a full suite of tumblelog for wordpress , which even support theme options.

When starting of micro blogging trends, this 2 are consider the leads of the trends, but i think Jaiku is a bit unlucky, didn’t getting as much hype as twitter . Jaiku is always my favourite , if compare to twitter . but when the people around you all is using twitter , you got not much choice.

Without social network, micro blogging is bored, one good example that i always remember is some people describe micro blogging is just like the status text that you set on your msn, to tell the rest of friend, what happen to you or what are you currently doing, but without friends that added your msn ( social network ) all those status is just meaningless.

By the way, currently Jaiku is working on the new backend ( link to google ? ) , you need invitation to register Jaiku , i still have 9 invitation, leave your email if you need one. My jaiku is https://imknight.jaiku.com , i built it when i blog about how to use Jaiku for lifestream
