Why am i choosing this topic is because some time i just wish i can receive these as christmas gifts , instead of some meaningless gifts like USB cup warmer ,accessories or tower etc.I believe when some people thinking of buying gift for people like me , will be quite headache too since they are not really into all these web services.

I m not a Yahoo Fan, this might be the main reason i hate to see this merge, my current yahoo id is use for YIM ( company using this as official communication tools ) and for my flickr account only, both delicious and flickr founder leaving Yahoo make me feel even more disappoint. I still remember during the period where Flickr account merging with Yahoo account,lots of issue happen and there are complaints everywhere, there are even user refuse to merge and leave the service. I m not sure after this few year, the same kind of merging will be causing any issue or not , but if can i really prefer to have stand alone account for both service, in stead of having a yahoo account.

Maybe i should consider pinboard ?

So how does flickr2twitter work ? first add your twitter account on the usual blogs configuration page.

authenticate your twitter account through oauth, this will allow flickr to post photo to your twitter account. Just browse through your photo as usual, when you decide to post one particular photo, just select blog this.

you only allow to inset 116 char, because it reserve some space for the short url of the photo, the shorten url is using flic.kr domain, it seem like a special shorten url for flickr only.

that’s it, now i can see the tweets with the photo url showing on my twitter account, simple and straightforward. Simple interface + shorten url + big fan base , that’s why i say the rest of twitter photo sharing service is going to facing some problem, i wonder will there be stat to read on the flickr shorten url ?

1. I blog about the issue i have last year , until today they still not allow user to change web address.
2. I don’t like M$ and it seem like M$ might still buying Yahoo. I think lots of people might leave flickr if M$ really take over Yahoo.
3. Flickr Founder leave Yahoo. I can sense that no more interesting thing will be appear on flickr.
4. Yahoo layoff cut into flickr staff. This might affect the standard of support ?
5. My flickr pro account is really underutilize.

my original intention for getting a flickr pro account is not mainly for keeping photos, i m thinking to develop something to make use of flickr API or make use of flickr to host my blog image, but after 1 year , what i put in there is just some travel photo only. Seriously there are lots of blog post mention about flickr alternative but so far none of them can compare to flickr i think, i wonder what will happen to flickr if Google is the one bought them ?

yeah, i getting a reply after nearly 2 month, i already found the answer in the forum ,but don’t you think the support really need to be improve ? I have similar case on my flickr account some time ago, but it took flickr reply me after 8 day, i won’t say the time it took it’s reasonable , but 1 month+ is really unacceptable.

Yeah someone told me on flickr forum, a $25 service , what you expect ? maybe i come from service industry before but i would tell you , today even is just a $2 service , you should give a reasonable support else you might losing more customer on this.

After i pay by paypal and doing some profile update , i realiase that i can’t change my flickr web address, it still using the address which is related to my old domain, i want to make it reflect the new domain ( imknight ) , after some research on the forum, the only way is create a new account , damn !

I make post on the forum, send in a support ticket , there are still no respone, it might be due to weekend ? i have stop the billing agreement on paypal but not sure is that stop the payment, argh! lets what will be the reply from flickr on monday.

How i wish that flickr is stand alone not a subset of Yahoo , i saw some post in the forum asking is there anyway to get refund if flickr fall under M$ ..

All these little idea lead me to scrnshots – a service that allow user sharing/posting/hosting their screenshot, a flickr which only have screenshots. I like the idea, in fact if today it have the feature/API/Pricing like flickr, i might just subscribe it, too bad it still quite new.

Currently it seem like the only way to upload is using the web form, i can’t find the so call apple widget on their front page. hmmm … i would say a interesting idea and because of this i found some other related service/apps which is interesting, think i will share it on other post.

but unfortunely the plugin broken after upgrade to wordpress 2.1 , as you can see the insert page is gone with Error 404

there are no quick fix for this , i spend about half hour to go through the code and give up but after one week later, the plugin author release

after apply the latest version and yes i m able to see all my photo from flickr again, upgrade it now if you having the same problem

Few day ago, i getting email from writely ( i using hotmail to register during that time ) mention they will create a google account for me to for migration of my current account, since i have a google account already, this will just make duplicate account for me, so i send a ticket to ask for solution, i getting a reply next day mention there is solution for moving btw account .. and few more day later this feature is there ..

when you login your writely account, you can choose if you use other email with writely, you can just move all your document over and its not only limit to one way, you can move your document from other account also

Its good to have both way migration , so here you go continue to merge my 2 account ..

actually i don’t really use writely that often but after this incident, i m thinking to give it more try, this recall me during flickr and Yahoo account merge, why is it so many complaint ? maybe flickr on Google’s hand is better then on Yahoo ?
