Personally i think the pricing is a bit over, that is around USD $10 different compare to WordPress.com.Wordpress.com is charging user $14.97 for a domain each year and they added the dns control recently , i guess this must be a strike back to Posterous new feature.

bloglah.net (27-Oct-2005) – few year ago i using this domain to build a chinese blog aggregator for malaysia chinese blogger and the site even feature in newspaper/magazine too, but after that due to a lot of reason i didn’t continue it.

getspot.net (27-Oct-2005) – another domain that i didn’t use for few year, i start a web2.0 blog on it for some time, but realiaze it seem like duplicate of my own blog, in the end close it.

ahknight.net (29-Oct-2004) – my blog domain after i move out from some subdomain, it’s been redirect to my current domain for one year already.

there are a lot of memory on these domain, but nope i not going to renew it, not only the domain price hike, i have too many domain on hand, i would like to focus those domain which have better potential to growth something.

First thing i want to add an additional domain, going through the interface and i find out that i can add only add the new domain as addon domain, this raise my SEO alarm. Why ? When you add a addon domain on your main domain, it actually might create some duplicate content.

Let say  i have maindomain.com and seconddomain.com, so i going to add my seconddomain.com as addon domain for my maindomain.com , but after i done, i actually can access seconddomain.com by seconddomain.maindomain.com, it serve as subdomain. so the seconddomain.maindomain.com will actually have same content like seconddomain.com which will be getting penalized by search engine.

I digging around google for solution, which is something simple, just add .htaccess redirect from the subdomain to maindomain will do , sharing this with fiends that on share hosting and doing SEO.

As usual before the actual price increase, my domain registrar will have some renewal promotion , this is the time i have to make decision which domain to keep and which to stop renewing,I currently have about 15 + domain, those that active and running something on it should be around 6 only, some of the domain i have register for few year thinking to build something on it but until today it still remain blank, some of the domain i build something before and its consider having some sort of memory on it, did a google on it can still some of the site still link on it, i really don’t know shall i drop it.

One of the good example is after i migrate from ahknight.net to imknight.net, i m not sure shall i continue to renew ahknight.net to maintain the redirect? i have build some theme before which until now still pointing to it. There is one domain which i build for chinese blog community and even been report by some chinese news paper before, i also struggle shall i renew it or not.

Maybe just renew one more year ? if nothing going on these domain i shall drop it next year ?

• tesing order page of NewMedia Express also showing the old price which is $55.
• Web Commerce Communications promo is USD2.50
• The cheapest will be Webvisions, S$2.50 ! but the order system seem like showing old price which is $40, maybe you need the account manager to access the $2.50 .sg domain ?

One funny thing is when i did some research on webhostingtalk.com , lots of people seem like don’t know , they even angry on their own registra, how come raise the price suddenly. According what i surf through today, big company like namecheap  and godaddy all are increasing their pricing.

Currently i m using resellerclub for manage my domain , they did inform us this domain price hike and did a renewal promotion before starting of the increase, most of my domain has been renew during this promotion.

Renew your domain today if is expired soon, you might be still able to renew with the same price.

Another thing that i busy is looking for another new host for migration, not really happy with the host, they claim their semi management, but when i need help ask me to check the log myself, sigh.

geez i almost change a host every month some are vps , some are reseller account but i still prefer a directadmin vps, at first thinking to go back wiredtree, since i have very good impression on their support, but still feel that cpanel is not my cup of tea and the new vps i getting will have better spec compare to the same account that i pay to wiredtree.

my new host is Rockmyweb , so far seem like a new company, but they getting some nice comment on webhostingtalk. let me review it again 3month later, i hope this should be ending of my host moving.
