Saw an email from sourceforget few day ago, as usual the first thing i will take a look is project of the month, the project of the month on Feb is a antivirus software, which called Clamwin.
i was like wah .. another free antivirus software, after AVG & Antivir, now coming another Clamwin.
currently my computer installed both, AVG and Clamwinto do some comparison, basiclly i like the AVG interface and i feel the scanning speed seem like faster then Clamwin, but AVG seem getting more resource hunger, anyway gonna test by on both, see how good this 2 gonna fight virus ..
my home pc is linux flavour so i dont have to worry bout virus since most of em spread on windows.
but on my school lab they use norton thingy.
but yet on my bootable windows XP, i dont use antivirus mostly IF i need a virus scanning i use housecall(symantec) free online antivirus scanner and for single file scanning i use kaspersky(online scanner too).
on my webserver b0x use clam.
FYI, kaspersky online scanner oni scan a single file e.g a zip archive or .doc so on. it is useful when u downloading a warez, hacking proggie most of it useful for gamerz.
the housecall one, scan throughout ur computer. there’s a 90% they can cure the file and some must be done manually.
for a gamerz liek me, antivirus mostly eats ur memory(sometimes), reducing a program resources is my top priority. i oni install what is important ard my windows.
